Important info

Hello INC Families,

Thank you for registering your child to be a part of our Kids Program over INC50. We're getting ready to make sure your kids have the best time ever!

The Olympic Games are just around the corner and when it begins, all eyes will be on Paris. Fun fact though, one event will be held just off our shores. Can you guess what sporting event it will be? This year, your kids are not just attending a Kids Conference, they're attending a Kids Olympic Training Camp!

The obvious thing about the Olympics is you just can’t turn up and compete! It’s only for the elite athletes who have dedicated and committed their lives to practice and compete at the highest level.  But before they go, they first must qualify for a spot on their national team. This usually ends up as a showdown between a bunch of elite athletes and only the elite of the elite, that is the 0.1%, make the team.  They must practice.

The same is true for all sorts of activities; dance, musical theatre, any sort of competitive sport.
If you want to do well, you have to train.
If you want to be good at an instrument, you must practice.
If you want to be an amazing scientist, you have to put some time in.

As your child will learn at our INC50 Kids Olympics Training Camp, the same goes for faith! To grow and mature in our relationship with God, we need to practice our faith and that practice takes commitment. We define commitment like this; “Making a plan and putting it into practice.” We thought it would be great to help your kids understand that as much as they practice for their sports or rehearse for their musicals or study for their schoolwork, it’s important to train and practice their faith. This idea is highlighted in our Olympics Training Camp memory verse:

In 1 Timothy 4:8 Paul writes;
“Training the body has some value. But being Godly has value in every way.  It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come.” (NIRV)

When we commit to practicing our faith and follow through on our plan, it will impact our entire lives.  But we need to be sure we’re practicing what matters most. What matters most? Jesus said that love matters the most. Love for God and others. We practice what matters most when we have a close relationship with God. But, this isn’t something that comes naturally to any of us and that’s why we need a plan and a way to put that plan into action and the best place to start is with faith skills.

We want to focus on faith skills that your kids will be able to practice, helping them grow in their faith and get to know God more. We will use four words to help remember them;

  • Hear

  • Pray

  • Talk

  • Live
